So as I'm looking at my Bose system and see two 6x9s in the rear deck, I'm thinking of removing the sub and upgrading the 6x9s drastically. I still have my old Pioneer that I ran my BAs with 20 years ago, and it is stronger and louder than the factory Bose.
But how on earth do you get the sub out of this thing???

This is smart strategy. My main concern is how much the front panel rattles with those drivers trying to make bass. I would want to apply a crossover in the front and have the deck speakers handle all the bass in the system. Ideally they would be phase matched and the crossover would be around 80-100hz.
