One option, which i've heard in person from a friend, is getting a muffler delete with CA Performance test pipes. Being that the test pipes are bolt on, you can just swap them with the cats come smog time, but you got a few years before you even have to worry about that. You can do a seconday cat delete, but that will require cutting and welding, its up to you if you want to do that.

IMO, the muffler delete with CA Performance test pipes sound pretty good, and loud AF.

Keep this in mind tho: your neighbors could call the cops on you if your cold starts are that annoying and if they are willing to go down that route... the cops can come and see that your car is modified and ticket you for modified exhaust, or worse, if they see your cats have been tampered with, you can get state ref'd. Keep all that in mind. I've seen it happen.

Glasspacks are cool but like you said, they don't last.

And cutouts always sound like you have an exhaust leak when they are closed, which would bug the **** out of me, idk about you, but otherwise they are the best choice to go from quiet to loud.
