The a8 cars can dyno well into the 400s stock in 6th gear and not much less than a manual. People perceive the auto as being a lot less because of most dynos are done in 5th with the auto. 6th gear spins too high of mph for a lot of dynos so many shops use 5th. Shops who have done both auto and manual same dyno and day show 10 rwhp or less difference if the a8 is in 6th |
You are right. Looks like the difference is from additional efficiency losses that more than offset the corrections made by the dyno program.
