Just checked in on this... I was the one posting before with the ATS with the 2.0 LTG with the same issue.
I’ve had the MAF replaced and it didn’t fix it.
Interesting post about the off ramp on highway, i bought a bluedriver real time scanner and it did indeed show the same thing, the trims would get progressively worse after warming up and when coasting they’d basically max out at -29.9 (i think), triggering the CEL.
The last work done on my car was replacing all of the fuel injectors, it seemed to solve the problem but that was also at the same time the weather started warming up... so i’d say it’s fairly likely it didn’t. It appears there is definitely a correlation between cold weather and the issue. It could perhaps be something with canadian fuel but i’m in northern alberta and it hits -40 here so maybe they don’t see those temps south of the border?
I’ve since traded the car for a 3.6 and have had no issues thus far with it.
I could be wrong on this one, but at least with mine it did seem like fuel was diluting the oil (the level rising + smell) and changing the oil appeared to resolve the problem (more temporarily?)
