Hi guys, I just bought a ‘16 2ss 6spd w/o NPP. Ive spent about every penny I’ve saved the past 2+ years to get this car, and I only managed to get the car because I got a killer deal on it. Car gets here this Friday.



I’m 18 and I couldn’t find a car that had NPP and wasn’t like 6 grand out of my budget. I’m looking at several options for exhaust, but I do live in California and Smog is something I need to consider.

I don’t gave much to spend, probably less than $800 in the long run, but I want the loudest, most obnoxious sound I can do for the money. If you’re not into that, cool, I can’t afford a borla. I’m considering cutouts, but all of the videos I’ve seen aren’t that impressive and I don’t like the idea of the exhaust not exiting at the tail.

I’m also looking at a muffler delete, but I’m not entirely sure how illegal this is. I see Harley guys and Honda civics with straight pipes all the time and they’re never being pulled over. I obviously wouldn’t be jumping on it around cops, but the CHP around my town are total pricks and wrote me a ticket for going 65 on Highway one in a Subaru Forester. I don’t really have an issue with pissing off my neighbors or any of that, I just don’t want to get pulled over and given a fix it ticket. If anyone has experience with this, that’d be great

My next thing is secondary cat delete, I’ve heard this adds more gargles and pops from the richer content of the exhaust, but wouldn’t this fail smog?? I’ve never dealt with smog and am not familiar with the procedure.

I’ve considered glasspacks/cherrybombs, but I’ve heard these don’t last very long and don’t sound as good as the muffler delete.

I’m open to other suggestions, if anyone has any!!
