Not really. Ford has always positioned Shelby against Corvette, especially since they don't have a separate vehicle to go head-to-head with Corvette. This goes back to Stingray vs Cobra back in their SCCA days. After the AC Cobras stopped production the Shelby Mustangs stepped into the competition. Shelby models are also priced closer to Corvette than they are to Camaro.
