That's a nifty accessory. The direct to battery is more versatile I think.

Ordered a cabin airfilter from amz for a different car with 2 day shipping. It was supposed to be here tuesday. After much bitching they put in a replacement order for next day delivery and a $5 courtesy credit on future purchases. Twice now in 3 weeks I had orders delivered by AMZ shipping get stuck in out for delivery status but never actually delivered.

It worth noting, the compressor above is rated at 15amps at 13.8V according to their tech support. Manual says to run it with the vehicle on. If run with the vehicle off then the unit will likely draw more than 15 amps and possibly blow the cig lighter fuse (15amp). For best results, connect directly to the battery in some manner. If just topping off a few psi, I see no reason to run the car, otherwise if it'll be run for an extended period, there is a chance of running the battery down if the battery is not in good shape.
