I would not pay more than $33K for a used 1LE at this point, and I am pretty sure I could find a few at that price.
A dealer starting at $28K for trade sounds like a fair starting point to me. Don't buy new if you don't plan on keeping the car long term.

Leasing is the way to go. You don't give a flip if it drops below the residual value at the end of the lease. You give them the keys and walk away. So now we know that a $45,000.00 1LE is worth $28,000.00 after one year for a dealer trade. Holy shit that is a massive hit in the pocketbook would be crazy to do traditional finance and be upside down by $17,000.00 the first year. Even if you got some discounts, you would still be upside down by $14,000.00. Wait another year, and you will be able to pick up a used 1LE SS for $27,000.00 at CARMAX LOL.
I see one-year-old Gen 6 ZL1 selling for $50,000.00 in another 2 years will be at $36,000.00 now that will be one hell of a deal!
