Like many I think to be fair 2018 GT M6 PP1 should be compared to 1SS Camaro.
PP2 would be a better match for the 1LE, though not so different from PP1 except from the tires ans wheels, and little aero mods
For what I can tell, having owned a 2017 Camaro 2.0T for 9 month, and currently owning a 2017 Corvette C7 GrandSport M7 and a 2018 Mustang GT M6 PP1 :
- Mustang is way more liveable on a daily basis / with kids
- The revised 5.0 Coyote is my opinion a better engine than the LT1 because :
* It's more refined
* It sounds better
* The powerband is greater, almost as much torque, punch above 4500
and 7500 redline with no loss of power (LT1 is great is the 4500-6200
range)
- Compared to the Corvette gearbox the new MT82-4 is faster, greater to use, but I know the Camaro SS gearbox is great. On the Vette the transaxle complicate things
- Brake bite is really good in the Mustang
As far as Performance it still feels to much the LT1 is more punchy (but my vette is also a lot lighter), especially at low speeds
As far as handling, the Camaro feels more planted (I don't speak about the C7 GS which is a handling marvel), precise. On the road the 2018 PP1 feels pretty good, but not as sharp
I have almost no doubt the SS will be faster (slightly ?) on a roadcourse, and 1LE still slighly faster than the PP2, even more in the long run because of cooling
I just took one time my Stang on mountains roads for now (and on winter tires), but the car was a lot of fun because of the engine, brakes and gearbox

How does it make sense that a performance pack car should be compared to the cheapest SS you can possibly buy?
Your opinion on the engines kind of went out the window for me at the mention of virtually the same torque when clearly not only is it significantly less, but also the curve isn't anything special.
