More and more the mainstream magazines write about how great the E9X M3 was especially with BMW's decision to install the V8. I think it is for sure heading the way of a car that should be thought of as an investment just like the E39 M5.
Yes, you can have a faster car for the same money but you'd have to weigh that against a pretty special experience in that generation of M3.
