I never really understood the desire for "retro"...Leave the past unmolested, and beautiful the way it was. The 2008 Challenger was the closest any company in recent history has gotten to a "retro" car, short of the Thunderbird...and I look at that car as a bloated abomination of a design.
When the 2006 Camaro concept came out, the designers made no apologies for the "retro", and even billed it as a modern interpretation of the original lines, and character of the car, but NOT a retro design...and I liked that.
As far as I'm concerned, leave well enough alone, and if you like retro that much - go buy an old '69...or better: build one!
