TPMS (2016+ SS)

I’m not sure if this has been stated, is so please disregard this thread.

We all know the TPMS sensors in the 2016 SS utilize 433Mhz sensors.

The AC Delco part number is 13598787 and they’ll run you about $50/each. In addition to the aforementioned part number, it also interchanges with 22853740, 13581561 and 13589601.

It is not necessary for you to use AC Delco sensors. There are aftermarket sensors that operate at 433Mhz that will work fine.

Any GM vehicle with an RPO of XL8 utilizes the 433Mhz sensors.

I picked up a set of 4 from eBay, for a total of $55.

The sensors utilize the same learn procedure as the AC Delco sensors utilizing the appropriate handheld tool. The tool of choice is the El-50448 but there are other cheaper options that accomplish the same task.

Tire sensors programmed just fine and the appropriate pressures, as verified by a handheld digital gauge, are displayed on the DIC (haha).

Winter setup is complete. When the Spring rolls around I’ll swap the summer rubber back on and program the factory sensors back to the car.
