I've seen the plenty of Ikon splitters with great reviews on them, but I can't seem to find any pictures of the side skirts other than the ones from ebay.

All of the symptoms sound like your MAF sensor went bad. Might need to replace it. A little over $50 from Amazon.

Rustoleum makes a removable spray on tint that works like plasti dip. This way you could just spray on light coats until it's dark enough for you. If you don't like it, peel it off.

Personally, I don't mind cutting my OE wires. That being said, I just cut the OE wires (it's just 2 wires) and connected them to LED strips all around the trunk. Probably cost about $10 all together....
