I have the same noise, however I have a upper pulley installed. Believe the culprit is the snout bearing from when the upper pulley was pressed onto the snout.

Fair warning; the factory 6th gen ZL1 bolt doesn't fit with ATI lower, at least with the 15%. I fitted my 15% with an ARP bolt from a c7 z06 innovators west kit, apparently a LS7 or 5th gen camaro...

I'll be running both straight 85 and 100% methanol on my zl1 w/ upper/lower. Should be fine with whichever you choose. I jsut didn't want to drill into my fuel tank to be able to run e85 solo w/o meth
