My original post explained that it would be just an LS trim with a V8. No bigger/wider/stickier tires, no upgraded infotainment/extra speakers, no rear wing, no RS...

What they should do is just make the LT5 standard...

What they should do is just make the LT5 standard in the ZL1 models to keep up with the Hellcat Widebodies and Shelby GT500s of the world... Or at least offer it as a reasonably priced option.

Combine our Z/28 hopes with the confirmation of repackaging for the sake of a lower priced V8 variant, and here's my idea:

1LS V8: $33,495
Basic, cheap V8 for lower entry point and hooliganism....
