The 5th gen is narrow at the front getting wider towards the back before tapering quickly back at the quarter panel.
These both are wider at the front and gently taper back to the quarter panel,...

I didn't say they said it would lose weight, I said they over promised and under delivered. In many performance areas the new Mustang was not superior to the old Mustang in performance.

The 14's and 15's have the plug in the bumper cover, but people have posted behind it there is no threaded hole for the tow hook, some have had theirs drilled and tapped for one though.

It's harder to cut weight on an existing platform without drastic (and possibly expensive) measures, just look what Chevy had to do on the Z/28 to save weight.
