You'll need Sport Cup 2's to hook and still turn I bet. I wonder if the tires on the ZL1 1LE are available in 20" diamater; they are streetable R compounds.

It's hard to tell for sure without being there in person, but the sound reminds me of a friend's car that has a little rattling because of the headers and x-pipe on the car.

I bet it's as fast. I've seen some videos of a cammed 5th gen 1LE vs a stock 6th gen and it was neck and neck. You've got more power, but at least 250 more lbs to contend with.
