If it's only $100 more to get the part through the body/paint guy, I would just do it. That way they would "own" any fitment issues

I had the same problem on mine - I hadn't noticed it until about 5 months when my son pointed it out... I took it off and drilled the screws into the "correct" spot.

I did fill in the wrong holes...
