Yes exactly.. But that number goes down when you remove wear additives such as zinc, calcium, and other soft metals that lowers the ASH number for dexos 2.. I merely stated that can use this number...

it looks like the european spec would be a better...

it looks like the european spec would be a better choice it has a higher TBN number and more zinc and additives I bet this all to do with low ash to not mess with emissions stuff..not that its better...
