Both pipes are open, but the "bypass" one is much lower restriction, so the bulk of the exhaust goes out of this pipe, leading to the one sooted pipe on each side.

Chevrolet, just like every other manufacturer I've seen do this, made the panel too small and thus it doesn't actually protect the right area.

I did the ACS guards and the ACS skirts. I'm pretty convinced that the skirts actually did more to keep rocks off the fenders than the guards did, but they definitely both help.

They are "open" at the bottom like other aftermarket skirts are. The OEM ZL1 skirts are part of the actual body panel. You (of course) can't actually tell that they're open unless you're laying on...

You can attach them with just the bottom ones, but if you accidentally put your foot on the skirt when you get out, you're going to want the angled rivets installed.
