FWIW, there is expanding foam (what you used?), and there is non-expanding foam. The stuff for around windows and doors is usually non-expanding (or very minimal) as they don't want it to pop a door...

It doesn't help that the clutch has 4-5" of dead space when you release it from the floor before it engages either. The ONE thing I hate about this car is the clutch engagement.
