Well I looked up the melting point of Cerakote and I was surprised to see it is between 500-600 degrees F which is TWICE what powdercoating is so you may be on to something there.

Thanks guys for the responses. I think I am going to get a RACE BOX mini and use it in conjunction with Harry's Lap Timer. The SPECS on the mini in theory should give me the most accurate timing.
