I don't know the reasoning behind why factory SS pads have the weights. (never looked into it) but I DO know you don't need the weights. none of my aftermarket pads had weights. No side affects felt....

The biggest issue with this is the factory seat...

The biggest issue with this is the factory seat belt is connected to the factory seat so if you pull the seat for a bucket you will loose the factory belt.
