With the camber plates you can get the camber you want without maxing the camber at the knuckle. You can set the knuckle back to ~0*° which gains your clearance.

There is some variance to the tolerance stack up. I was able to get -2.5 also, but my buddy maxed out at ~ -2.3 IIRC. Usually one side has slightly less than the other so that is your limiting...
