Guilty! Been doing it since we bought our 2010 hardtop. It got worse when we traded for our 2011 convertible!!! On the possitive side I've lost a few pounds form the extra walking.

there is a bulletin for the shiny spots on the top. My tech fixed mine, did something to the brackets and it seems to have taken care of the problem. I would suggest you check with your dealer.
