My bezel was scratched when i bought my car, so I looked into it. In order to buy the bezel, you have to buy the entire shift assembly. Brand new it runs around $150. I ended up painting mine.

I would buy the V8. I own the V6 and it is ok on surface streets, but trying to get up to speed entering a freeway makes me want the V8. I would also recommend getting the RS package.

Unless your car will be in Phoenix for years, you will not need to worry about the heat. As far as the protectant, find one that does not have alchohol in it, and you will be fine.
