Zl1 to c8 Z06 story..
 

I miss my old Dinoco #51 (2017 ZL1) it was traded to VW clear lake, then sent to a PA dealer where I had received about 10 FB messages a day about the build lol. It finally found a new home and I believe it sold for 55k I got 45k trade in value by doing so I saved over 4k taxes on a VW Atlas R edition. I didn't use the money towards the VW but still saved on taxes. Next we bought a new 2023 C8 silver flair from covert out of Bastrop TX. Everyone was paying over msrp from 5k to 20k and still do in places like CA, Florida, and AZ being the highest. I got lucky I saw a listing on cargurus asked if they had a 2lt C8 and they did. I didn't pay over just had a BS 795 protection plan(I tried to get it off but it's on all there cars) I all ready purchased a High wing, splitter, and side rockers they installed pretty easy. Car looks pretty sharp now with the ground effects kit. Meanwhile I'm letting the wife drive my C8 during the break in period of 500 miles (limited 4500 rpm if I remember correctly) now she wants one lol. So I give her the C8 and I order a yellow 2Lt pretty identical to the hers except I added some carbon. She has my vette and we sold her car for 25k ao i could get one. The SS was a 2016 that we had since Nov 4th 2015 we used her 25k ck to pay off some CC and get ready for another purchase. I get a email last week saying my C8 will be here in early May and I replied awesome great and so on can't wait! Yesterday I get a call from the dealership where I got the silver flare c8 from saying that they have a C8 z06 allocation and it will be filled fast. So wife and I built a the zo6 last night, the zo7 pkg is on constraint so I got the 3lt zo6 it has all the same features as the zo7 except the splitter and high wing I can get that through trufiber or sigilia. What turned out to be his and her vettes just like the camaros we had is now sharing a zo6. I'm having to pay 20k over not to bad since they are going from 35k to 200k over also i didnt have to put any money down. This will save me money in the long run because I won't have to mod it, the c8 is quick I got a 2.8 to 60 but on the highway before we sold her SS she was able to beat me pretty easy. I had all ready been looking at the maggi and peitz twin turbo kit. 30 to 50k for 200 hp seemed like hwy robbery since I made 500 hp for under 18k. I'm thinking the 495 bump to 670hp will probably be good in most instances although I do live in Houston lol.

100k cheaper I built mine for 142k. Pretty good performance since they pretty much copied the 458.

Honestly would of been fine with a 109k 1lz base but i needed front lift and I was like screw it might as add 15k in options lol

I watched the video earlier today, very impressive, the car is a very impressive achievement, honestly I can't afford it, but if I could the ZL1 is such a bargain, I would probably stay with its platform, even GM said the C8 Z06 is not in the ZL1/1LE league. Congratulations on your new Ride

Thanks, I'm done with modding after owning 4 modded camaros. I figured just get something fairly fast and leave it alone.

Love the Z06, especially the sound of the engine, however when the E-Ray was announced, that's the route I want to go.

Seeing how my 1st car at 16 was a ferrari I always wanted another car with that engine sound.

I could of swore I saw a video all ready that the eray was faster to 60 but the z06 and eray tied in the 1/4 but the z06 has the advantage top end and handling with the 300lb weight advantage.

The Z06 should be quicker on a circuit, I think the E-Ray will be the better driver though for street use and occasional drag racing. The sound of the Z06 is intoxicating without question.

Me too. My plan is to trade my C8 convertible for an E-Ray convertible.

I'm banking the E-Ray will be a very fun street car.

Silver Flare Metallic is a great color. I just love all the undertones it has and how great it is at hiding dirt. Picking SFM was one of my better decisions when I built my C8.
