2024 Mustang GT - Is is a 6th Gen in disguise
I've read other say the 2024 Mustang has very similar body lines to the 6th Gen Camaro. After watching this video I see the point. The side profile has a very familiar shape. Hmm?

The Mustang and the Camaro have shared very similar dimensions and aesthetics for a while now. It should really be no surprise that they look very similar at this stage in the game, too. I don't, however, see the S650 as some cheap copy of the 6th gen Camaro. If anything, I like it more than the 6th gen Camaro and hopefully, Ford has figured out their chassis tuning and finally made a car that can be competitive with the Alpha chassis.

You read this when? Two weeks ago? This topic has been beaten like dead mustang.

It's neat to see some advancement in a literal dying breed of vehicles. I had the same thought when they revealed the new Mustang also, the body lines are dead on similar to the 6th gen. Feels like they were copying Chevy's homework.
Personally, I would love to see a Camaro revamp again to a 7th gen, but we all know GM won't do it. They've killed the Camaro with their ridiculous lack of coverage and education, and that's not a new thing. They started out strong in the 5th gen but by the 6th? Pfft. Not even commercials or promotions were done, especially here in Canada. The Camaro is largely ignored by buyers and dealers, the only ones asking and buying them are the gear heads and enthusiasts like us. Don't even get me started on the whole allocation system crap and the lack of dealer education. I can go all day, I dealt with it first hand when I worked at a dealer. |
The 2024 Mustang GT does look similar to the Camaro from the side. Ford is still going to use the weak transmission in the GT's. Tremec only on the Darkhorse. I wish GM would go the way Ford is and keep a parallel path for gas powered V8's in the Camaro. Maybe they are but things are awfully quiet.

That Dark Horse is a beautiful package. Props to Ford for not giving up on the V8s like Dodge and Chevy!

ford caught wind GM was done with the camaro as we currently know it. Its a smart move if your looking to carry over customers but we all know FORD dealers will mark up the dark horse $40-60k. 23 Camaro's still a better option for the $$$$.
