It's Been a Long While

Hey Camaro peeps! I just popped in to see what you guys think about Camaro being retired again?

I traded my 2018 Hyper Blue RS in for a loaded 2019 Impala Sept 2019. With the few frustrations I had with the Camaro; too short headliner, 20 inch black wheels(afraid of chips & scratches) and hard to get out in parking spaces (no problem with my 2013 Camaro tho). And I heard Impala was set to be discontinued, had the 6 speed tranny and V6 without stop /start I had to jump on it. It also has silver wheels (with chips from dealer) and much easier to clean, 50% less. BTW, nicer, quieter ride

Here's my two rides at the dealer while finishing up trade paperwork.

So back to my question.. What's your thoughts on Camaro ending? I can feel your pain since Impala was dropped Feb 28, 2020. Having owned two Camaros 2013 convertible and 2018 Hardtop I'm sad too

It sucks. Just hope they don’t go the Ford route and use the name with some EV line.

Hate to say it, but I think that's gonna happen. Wouldn't surprise me they dumped the gas engine all together on the Camaro and go all electric hatch-back. I mean, it's not like GM never made a bad marketing decision on the Camaro before...

I hate it too but it is what it is with the government pushing for all EVs across all of the automakers in the future. I will hang on to my 2017 ZL1 as long as possible until parts are discontinued and gasoline is nonexistent or too expensive.

I own an Impala and Camaro, so I guess I'll own two discontinued vehilces. It is what it is. Things change. If they discontinue the Tahoe I'll own 3 discontinued vehiles, but I can't see that happening anytime soon.

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Good luck with the new ride.

Your Camaro experience retired 9/19. Renew the experience now instead of feeling sad. Anyone that wants a new Camaro still has the chance to own one. Then, that car is not retired until someone decides to sell it, etc.

As a sidebar, we purchased our 2009 Pontiac G6 new at the time of GM bankruptcy (using a "cash for clunker" trade, haha). The G6 is still going strong. Never garaged, used by several teenage drivers who learned to drive in it, still a daily driver for several family members. Not only was the G6 model retired in 2009, the Pontiac brand and entire GM company were, too. Don't tell anyone here that the G6 is "triple retired." It's still in full service and on the move.

Couldn't agree more, my 2018 2SS is my forever Camaro and and won't be retired any time soon either. As to what gm wants to do with their vehicle lioneup, I don't really care until they unwoke themselves.

My girlfriend has a completely loaded Impala Premier with every single option. It's kind of like a 4 door Camaro V6 in my opinion. Great car. I recently traded my 18 RS V6 for a 17 MKZ 3.0t AWD, and that was discontinued as well. Some of the best cars are no longer, so I'm getting used to it unfortunately

Same here I bought a 15 Impala 2 months ago when my kid totaled his car and sold him my beater with a heater (2002 Grand Am GT) So, I'm in the same boat as you 1 discontinued and 1 soon to be and maybe a 3rd if they get rid of the suburban, which with the way gas prices are going they just might. Sad they ended the Impala, those cars are bullet proof and great gas mileage for the size. Maybe with gas prices going the way they are they'll bring it back. Fingers crossed.

Count me in the Camaro/Impala club as well. Keeping my '11 Camaro garage queen for fun until I die.
Bought a new '17 Impala over four years ago. Got a great deal and I love it. Last of the 6 speed trans, V6 full size four door sedan (more room than the Caddy's), no start/stop, fully loaded, great mileage, etc., etc. It's been trouble free, no issues at all....Change oil once a year....etc....lol...
The end of everything is already here. Only a grotesque brave new EV world in the future. No thanks. Get a Camaro while you still can. You'll be sorry if you don't.

Long live ICE, may it soon recover....lol

I’m on the “don’t care” team. I have mine and will keep it till who knows when…. I go through cars pretty quickly. What I can say for sure is I won’t be trading my Camaro for an Impala (no slight intended).

Yep, the Impala is a nice car. We have a '15 LTZ Black. Just turned 30k miles on it...LOL. Looks brand new inside and out. We'll have it for a long time.

I bet Chevy thought we will keep our Impalas for some time, that's why they axed the 4 banger for last 1/2 yr 2020 models. V6's get 300,000 miles if taken care of, T4's get max 150,000 miles. My 2019V6 has 12,500miles so far & still looks brand new too.
