Might be time to go
Hey guys and girls, I was wondering if I could get your opinions. I love my Camaro and it's power (650whp) and sound but I have an opportunity to build a C8 for next year (2022 model). I love the look of the new vette and the mid engine but haven't got to try out the different seats options to know how comfy/uncomfortable they might be. Wife also loves the new vette in Orange but they are changing that color and don't know what it looks like in person (just the pictures).
Basically what i'm asking is if you could get a new vette, is it worth it to part ways with the Camaro with those unknowns of the color and seats. Thanks |
If you want and like the new C8s then I say go for it!! You only live once and they are awesome machines. Personally I don’t like them but that’s just my opinion as I prefer the C7s because of true front engine and manual transmissions. Think of it this way, if you don’t get one then you will always regret the decision so go for it is my advice to you.

tbh i dont like the look of them. prefer the c7 meself.

Agree with the replies. I prefer the look of the C7 myself. If the C8 is what you like, go for it. Not like you couldn't sell it if it isn't what you thought.

neighbor has a 2021. like the car but after riding in it, the driver and passenger are very "disconnected" with the tall height of the center stack. rumors are 2022 has a different center in it to change that feel.
he has the peanut butter suede/leather interior and I can see it's going to show the dirt real easily. said it cleans up nice but unless you are uber-careful that interior is going to require as much cleaning time as the exterior. otherwise it was a nice car. |
I considered a C8 before buying my Z. Didn’t care for the interior especially the turn dial “shifter”.
& what do you mean by build? I thought GM was locking the ECM’s & PTM’s on those so no mods that will amount to much. Maybe I’m miss informed. Quote:

The look isn't horrible but not my favorite and the c8 won't have a manual shift option which is a must for me. The interior bothers me just as much as the outside. But I wasn't fond of the exterior of the standard c7 either but liked the z06 enough to buy one. If they make a manual z06 or zr1 I might bite.

It's hard to say no when the wife wants it and pretty much chosen the color for you...lol
I would be in a C8 already if it came with a manual. Enjoy whatever you decide to do. cheers |
The C8 is an amazing car.
I wouldn't let go of your Z until you have the C8's keys in hand. Supply is nearly nil on those things. |
Corvette has always been a step up, if you want a Vette and have the opportunity to do it then go for it.
|
Do you have a ZL1? If so, no would never leave that for a C8 unless the switch wasn’t going to cost me much, which I doubt.
|
I agree with most of the responses. I don't like the design of the C8.
But you have do decide what you want for you. Maybe keep the Camaro and get the C8 Vette also. |
i like the new vettes but depending on how old you are and what medical condition you are in gettin in and out could be a problem.im 63,average health but sold my little pontiac solstice because getting in and out was a pain in the ass.ive seen them in orange, they look good.no dealer in your area has one you can sit in to try the seats?
