Weird pump noise in the morning
Hey guys. I traded in my 2SS for a zl1. Loving every moment of it. But I noticed something odd. In the morning when I open up the driver door the car makes a weird grinding/whine kind of sound. I sounds like it’s coming from the rear passenger side. But it only does it once. And it only does it first thing in the morning. It almost sounds like a fuel pump priming. The thing that concerns me is the noise doesn’t sound normal. It almost sounds like a grinding/whine. I never heard this on my SS. Is this normal? Do your cars do the same thing? I appreciate the input

When you open the door or even unlock the car it will make a pump sound. My Golf R did the same thing.
Mine makes a loud chirping sound for the first 30 seconds or so on a cold start. Super obvious when I start it in the garage. Sounds like something rubbing to me but not sure. I don't really trust the dealership I bought the car from to look at it because they sell mostly lower end models and had the ZL1 sitting in the back for a while, and they aren't known for having good service... |

Fuel pump running a few seconds to prime the fuel line with fuel.

THanks guys for the input. Glad to know it’s normal. The noise just sounds a little harsh. Too me it doesn’t sound like a healthy pump noise. It sounds like a grinding noise. Hopefully it’s just me being paranoid lol

Yep, mine too.
Would have been concerned too except for reading it here... Great site for info like that! Another cool tidbit was learning about the "secret" trunk latch button at the top of the back license plate for those times when you don't want to dig your FOB out of where ever you have it. |

I don’t know guys. This definitely sounds not normal to me. I’m gonna attach a link to a video of the sound. Please tell me if it sounds normal. Thanks https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ARd4XLtHmxc

I’m pretty sure mine has that same woosh type sound when it primes. I’ll try to get a video of it.
