Heads Up-2018 SS Brake Pad Change

I hate brake dust, so I decided to change the brake pads on my 2018 convertible with heavy duty brakes. I chose Power Stop ceramics for all four wheels. Installing the fronts went fine but the REARS DID NOT FIT because the parking brake "shoe" is in the way on the inboard side. I bought the Power Stops from Carid and they are exchanging them for EBC Red brake pads that are supposed to fit. Carid is eating the shipping so I have been treated fairly but I thought a heads up to 2018 owners might be helpful. :sad0147:

Thanks for part numbers and everything.

Yep, part number would be good. And what about the brake dust?

Like others have said... part number needed.

I can't imagine that 2018 brake is much different than 2016 and 2017... But I could be wrong.
Like most peeps, I used these without issues:
Power Stop Z26-1474A Z26
Power Stop Z26-1718 Z26

I had no problem with the powerstops

Put them on my 18 and they slid right in. Mine is a coupe A8 so I wonder if your convertible is different?

Going by memory here which isn't so good these days but when I installed my PowerStops I believe I had the same issue. I think the back pads are different i.e. there are inside and outside pads.

Yes with the rears the pads matter. The one with the pad depth indicator has to be on the outside pad

That’s what I thought so I tried em both ways and neither one fit on the inboard side. The Brembo Rear pads are not as wide when I compare them with the Power Stop rear pads.

The fronts fit. Part#Z26-1835 (Carid). The rears don’t. Part#Z26-1053 (Carid) The tech at Carid stated the the rears don’t fit a 2018 even though the website says they do. They are exchanging them for EBC Red Stuff rears that are supposed to fit.

I had the z26- 1718 for the rear of my car. I got a 2016 SS but I don't know why if would be different

Those part numbers (F&R), according to listed applications on powerStop's site don't list any 6th gen other than the ZL1 (?).
