Moreno Motorsports Camber Plates 1LE Review (With Video)

I'll update this after a track day in a couple days to shake these down.

Initial impression of these camber plates are at first glance you can tell they're high quality. Mostly assembled right out of the box, The wider 3/4 inch spherical bearings along with anodized and nickel plate hardware looks fantastic (pity it hides under the car).

Installation was straightforward thanks to a thorough walk-through on their website. The only hiccup was eating my last step drill bit and having to get another one to finish the other strut shaft. With a friend handy and access to a lift we installed both in just over two hours.

Originally I was able to achieve 2.2° of camber for my track and auto x set up. With the Moreno motorsports camber plates, they maxed out at just over 4.2°. For the track day coming up this weekend I'm going to run 3.3° since I'll be on Sport Cup 2s.

My initial driving impressions are that these are whisper quiet. Other camber plates I've experienced pop and crash with bumps in the road. The plates did not upset the ride in anyway and felt OE.

Good write up. Did you go with the 1/2" drop or not. I started my install today too.

Excellent post. Let us know how your new camber plates perform.

I'm running 295/30r20 in the front right now so I didn't drop it. If you do please take a photo and share the difference.

I'm not planning on dropping it either since I'm already lowered. I believe OminouSS is dropping his.

I'd be really hesitant to drop just the front, that has the potential to dramatically change the weight balance of the car. I used to adjust weight balance to deal with under/oversteer by half turn increments on a coilover, 1/2" drop is a lot more than a half turn!

Why did you guys decide on camber plates vs. elongating the holes and grinding a bit off the struts?

The machining looks beautiful!

A few things for me
1) inboard clearance without grinding
2) ability to quickly switch from street to track alignment
3) they'll eventually pay for themselves in tires

Tx6g1le, did you happen to see how switching the camber at the camber plates affects toe on this car, if at all? I'm curious how much it will change when switching back and forth from street and track settings.

hmm I wonder if that much of camber is really needed up front as it will probably be diminishing returns after a certain point, say -3.0 camber. Did you leave the rears untouched?

I remember that GM recommends -2.7 camber on the new ZL1 1LE and that's the camber they used on the Nurburgring lap record FWIW

Also fwiw I'm planning on setting my knuckle camber at 1* so I can adjust up to 3* at the camber plate. I can always change it again if need be if I feel I'll ever need more.

McPherson suffers from camber loss so more static camber the better for cornering usually. But tire wear will tell.

Definitely not for DDing with -4deg of camber hah

I am planning to get Multimatics because of that ;) So I can do something like -1.5 front camber and add additional -1.5 camber from the OEM camber plate

Yeah, I am familiar with both strut and double wishbone types :) Still though, that sounded like a lot of camber, especially when leaving the rears at -1.6 or -1.7 degree. Assuming he uses an OEM non adjustable toe links in the rear that would allow him to add more camber without losing toe

seanblurr 07-29-2017 05:55 PM

It'll all depend on tire. Bust out that trusty pyro!
