Xpel Prime XR tint

I got a quote for $410 for windshield and windows tinting at a local shop here. He's pretty well reviewed and the place appears neat and tidy. He uses Xpel tint.
We all know Xpel is good for the paint protection products, but the tint is pretty new and I can't find reviews for it. Any of y'all have any experience with it?

Wow, $410 for tint?!

Hyper16 10-12-2016 02:20 PM

Dude I talked to wants $500 for ceramic tint. :eyebulge:

That's kinda ridiculous. I had all my windows done, aside from the windshield, for about $220

Well it's $260 for just the windows. $150 for the whole windshield.

Any experience with Xpel tint?

Ceramic?

Ceramic tint is considerably more expensive. $410 seems pretty cheap including the windshield. I have Llumar CTX so I can't help the OP, sorry.

Just the windows would be $160 with regular tint, so beat that, lol. :P

I want the good stuff for a car I'm going to keep for a long time. I think I'm going to try it out and give y'all a review!

No experience with XPEL tint but I'm running ceramic on the sides and back and it's over $300

Sounds like a riff on the 3m Crystalline series, based on the high heat rejection at lighter shades and both claiming "nano-technology". If the performance is on par with Crystalline, $410 is a very good deal. In my area, Crystalline on the windshield alone is $200+, and I believe $500+ for the whole car with windshield.

Did they already show you how it looks installed, and maybe demo its effectiveness either by heat lamp or--even better--installed on an actual vehicle? Just out of curiosity, how dark are you going?

Paid $275 for all but the windshield, 3M ceramic.

I might just go the darkest legally in Texas. The windshield I want in a clear film instead of their optional blue film.

I agree, seems legit if it is their top of the line ceramic tint plus the windshield. However, for the windshield, my guys only charged me $100 on top of the rest of the tint job to do Llumar Air80 on it.
