Roto-fab CAI vs. Z28 CAI
We've seen many questions about the Z28 intake and how it stacks up against some of the aftermarket CAI systems. We can't speak for others, but here is some good information shared with us about a head to head comparison of the Roto-fab CAI and the stock Z28 CAI.
The following is the actual email we received from Lethal Racing about their testing. In comparison to the Z28 CAI he Roto-fab CAI showed an improvement of about 4 HP and 6 ft/lb tq. Keep in mind this is a comparison of the Roto-fab and the Z28 intake, NOT the standard Camaro intake. Very nice!!! :thumb:
Always great to see improvements!! Thank you, Ricardo |
Never doubted the Rotofab was better.

I'm not a Rotofab hater, and this is good info. But, it is done on a Z28 with multiple mods. Before everyone jumps to conclusions, it is worth noting that the results cannot be applied to LS3s or L99s, particularly with no mods. The results might be totally different there.

I would love to see a back-to-back comparision of the Rotofab versus Z28 intake on an otherwise unmodded SS (with no tune).

How about roto-fab vs vararam intake tune and non-tune model. That is something I would like to see.

Which, to me, based on one single test, (one point a trend does not make) means the Z/28 intake works about as good as the other aftermarkets making my choice even easier. Because what you DO get with the Z/28 intake that the others don't give you is an already-installed MAF and a DRY filter and a PERFECT fit. The MAF alone is around $75 or more retail and the worry about over-oiling a filter is a thing of the past. No knock on rotofab, as they're intakes function as well as look good, too. |
I love my rotofab.. we picked up 3 of them over the c5 fest in KY. 3 different people in my club.

In addition to performance, our intake offers you the ability to customize to your tastes or match the theme you have under the hood. With tons of Camaros out there it's nice to pop the hood and have something a little different than the guy next to you. |
