Reverse and License plate lights

Hey everyone, I have the 2019 and ive heard LED reverse lights wont work correctly? So I cant just drop in a 7440 LED replacment? Should I go for a halogen instead? I dont care for them to be much brighter but rather more white than they are. EDIT* Can I get an LED with a built in resistor or a "Error Free" LED?

For the license plate lights, can I drop in some LED replacments? If so, which ones? I want BRIGHT! The reason being, i have a tinted plate which looks SO good, but live in a small town and got pulled over yesterday by the only cop here who cares. He said the only reason was because it would be hard to see at night. So I want to make it not even look tinted at night. (Also thinking of throwing an LED strip in the cover but thats a different project)

TLDR - What drop in replacement lights can I get for a 2019?

Phastek and Dyode Dynamics have a kit as well for a reverse bulb setup. For the licence plate and trunk I bought Phillips led bulbs

I just found some good LEDs for the license plate. The 2019 has an issue with using LEDs for back up lights and those kits are for 2016-2019 im pretty sure. I saw Gen5DIY had a kit but you had to remove the rear bumper for it and thats just not worth it to me, ill just find some more white colored bulbs.

So for the 19 model you have to remove the rear bumper with any of these kits?

From what ive seen, to install a resistor in the 2019 you have to remove the rear bumper yes. What about a 7440 LED light with built in resistor? Would this be an option? Seems more expensive so im not sure. Id be fine with a more white colored halogen if I can get one at a good price.

So far I see a 2 pack of Sylvania 7440 ST for only $10.

Ok wow I didn't realize the 19's were like that. Yeah any halogen bulb (regardless of color) should be fine without a resistor. I'm sure someone will come out with full LED kit for the 19 model soon though.

The problem they ran into without resistors was that the backup lights stayed on after the car was in park I believe. Im thinking of ordering some "HITBEAM Error Free" LEDs. I guess worse case I can return them if they dont work. Its only like $12 anyway.

Apparently Gen5DIY does have a harness but its $90 and id rather buy some $10 bulbs.

Yeah screw paying $90 for that. The 16-18's can have the same issue with the back up camera as well, if the resistor is to weak. If it were me I'd just buy the whiter halogens for now. That way you won't have to wonder or worry

I ordered those LEDs for reverse light and license plate on Amazon, and found the same halogen bulbs I was going to order at multiple nearby stores for the same price so... in case they dont work, ill pick up those bulbs on my way to return the LEDs.

That's works. So how you liking the car so far? I myself came from a 2016 Mustang V6 to this car. Other than the damn shudder issue, and a crappy headliner, I like this V6 a lot better than the Mustang

I went with these Nokya 7440 27w bulbs for my reverse lights. Brighter than stock and got rid of the yellow tint.

The plate lights are $10 LED's from JW Motoring. Work great also.

Might grab those if these LEDs turn out to not work.
