I'd put a black bow tie there (I'm assuming you had a gold one?)
|
Yes, a black bowtie emblem would look good on the car!
|
To me it's missing something! I'd put back the bowtie.
|
i had the black bowtie
i just didnt like the chrome... to me it loooks more sinister, it definitely looks better in person. I thought in the future i might put "CAMARO" in black lettering there.. but for now no badge.. side story... the black badge is a dealer installed item so whatever goon was charged with removing my badge he must have used a screwdriver... so behind the badge was two nice chips and a little cracking where the other side of the badge had been pressed into the trunk..so i spent two days filling and sanding to "Mostly eliminmate any trace of it..." who ever did it... i msure figured hell never see it so what... |
A blacked out SS emblem where the bow tie are used to be might be nice…

I debadged everything I could. Only thing left is the front bowtie and SS emblem.
|
I like it...the SS badge says enough.

I removed everything but the bowtie. To each their own I guess. |
To the OP-
I like it. I have been toying with the idea of doing the same thing on mine actually. And in the front I'd black out the bowtie in the middle of the grille for sure. |
In my opinion GM did a decent job with the badging on the Camaro. Not too much, not too little. However, I don’t like the gold bow ties very much. I even like the small red, white, and blue Camaro emblems on the side. Personally I don’t know why one would debadge the car. My car proudly wears its badges! But, each to their own. It’s your car so make it the way you like it.

Personally I don't like the gold bow ties either.
My wife's truck has black bow ties and they look great. The side emblems don't bother me one way or the other. The only reason I was considering removing the rear one on mine was to add a blackout panel between the tail lights. But my car is dark gray, not black like the OP's. It is way too much trouble to work around the bow tie when doing that, at least for me. But your point is well taken, they really did not overdo it at the factory. |
