Has anyone seen their HUD shift lights?

I've not quite hit the 1500mile mark, so I haven't really opened it up much, but last night I did nearly reach the top of second (~6000 RPM, maybe), and I didn't see any shift lights on the HUD. I was on the "Performance" screen (with the G meter and hockey stick tach).

I've searched around the forum, and haven't really been able to figure out if others have been having this issue. I know that the manual incorrectly claims that the turn signals will appear on the "Speed" HUD screen, but I'm not sure if there is a problem with the shift lights too.

Can anyone with a 2016 M6 SS confirm that they have shift lights on the HUD?

It is only on the M6 transmission not the A8.

You've seen it on your M6?

I have a M6 with 890 miles and have yet to see them. I've tried in every mode.

I have an A8 but I have read about it in the manual when I read it.

You're right. It is in the manual, but it also shows the turn signals should appear in the HUD although they don't. GM needs to hire better proof readers.

No, GM needs to fix the software and update it to make the HUD worth a shit, cause right now its just a tach & speed indicator..& NAV stuff, but who looks at that..GM Nav sucks..Corrected..ONSTAR Nav really bites..

Well this is upsetting. If it's in the manual on a new generation vehicle, I feel it's very safe to assume the car is meant to have these things. In a sense, that means we are paying for services and abilities of the car that are not actually present.

How can we bring this to the attention of anyone at GM who can correct the issue at the factory level and get a recall out there to reprogram currently build vehicles? I understand that most people won't actually care about these things, but since I don't have my car yet, I want to make sure when I do drop $44K+ on mine, that I get the most possible out of it that I was intended to get.

O

I can't imagine why a shift light would not be included not only on the M6 but also the 8a. I had that on my M6 C5 and it worked well.

I don't see a problem at all with the GM navigation system and I use it regularly. Just sayin

Can they just update this with a software update? So then HUD has the proper components to show shift lights and such?

They would only do it if it was brought to their attention. Does anyone here know who we can contact and how to bring it up so it's corrected?

Ya'll gotta have the lights! On my car, the shift indicator lights are when I have the HUD in the G meter setting. That is where I keep mine all the time. Matter of fact, I hit .92 G's on a ramp yesterday. Loving the warm weather...
