Rear Mount Turbo Build

3 Attachment(s)
Turbo is in. All final materials will be in by Wednesday next week. Beginning the build next Friday. Aiming for numbers by mid month and release early August.

I'll use this as a build tread to keep everyone updated.

Any clue on pricing? Maybe I'll wait if it good.

Some thoughts.

Stand alone oil system for turbo so no running oil lines.
Specialized "boost subframe". Everything is conveniently packaged making a true bolton design.

Aiming for a total install time if 3 hours or less!

Have to pickup subframe material and 2.5in, 3in and 4instraight material tomorrow.

Expect many pictures and updates through out the week

That is a pretty big turbo!

Oh man.. can't wait to see how she does! I always dreamed bout turbo charging but I don't have funds in the bank in case things go awry lol

Just to verify we're not designing a super cheap kit with no name components.

Borg Warner Turbo Charger
Turbowerkz oil pump
Tial bov
Tial wg
Aeroquip fittings
Etc

No cheap components to crap out later.

However with all that said expect a more complete setup with higher power capacity than anything else in the market with a similar price.

No to rain on your parade or be disrespectful in any way.

Mounting a turbo in the back of the car is a complete waste of energy, pardon the pun.

All of the advantages of turbo charger are lost through heat dissipation.

And all of the disadvantages of turbocharging are exaggerated 10 fold.

A proper turbocharger system needs to be as close to the exhaust port as possible to convert heat energy into kinetic energy.

You may want to do more research and rethink this project.

Respectfully

Ted.

I know it sounds sily, but the "weaknesses" of the kit are what attract me to it, at least the lag.

Why would you want to move the throttle then wait for the onset of power your asking for when you move your throttle?

Doesn't seem logical or nor is it predictable.

If you ever had the opportunity to drive a stock 87 Gran national you would think otherwise.

Ted.

Great another kit nobody can afford.

If it is going to cost the same or more than a Procharger or Maggie setup, why wouldn't I go with a kit that will give me no lag and a warranty option?

I've been building turbo kits for Hondas making more than 1000hp for years. I know the ins and outs of turbocharging more than you can even think.

All i can say is we have quite a few tricks up our sleeve and wait to criticize after it is built and a number is shown

Actual numbers...the great shut the hell up statement!
