Headlight LED

Has anyone gone with the LED HID? If so how does it look and where did you buy it from? Was it hard to install?

I researched LED low beams along with conventional xenon HID upgrades for my car (which came with halogens). All the aftermarket LED H11 bulbs I found were designed as plug-and-play replacements for halogen beams. Does your car have factory HIDs? If so, this would not be plug-and-play for you.

I never bought them so I can't comment on how they look, but I believe someone on the forum has done this upgrade (to their factory halogen equipped car). Their review should be here somewhere.

If you have factory HIDs, your lighting is already as good as it's going to get without spending serious money and/or time.

From what I understand:

LED headlights performs pretty much the same as HID/Xenon. Not much, if any increase in performance there. So there's no benefit to switch to LED if you already have HID.

The next step would be laser... which blows everything away. They're only available in high-end luxury cars. Good luck with that when something goes wrong. $$$$

Not true- LED's are not up to HID standards yet. Thats why you see cars with true LED hedlights have MULTIPLE LED's...

Stay with HID's and upgrade the projectors-

It depends on the design...

I drive Tesla's all day at work and they have LED headlights, But the HID projector's on my old 370Z were better.

Just because headlights are LED doesn't always mean they will perform better... For example, The current Honda Accord can be optioned with LED headlights in the Touring model while the lesser trims get halogen projectors.

In those results, You can see there was more light closer to the car but they didn't reach nearly as far as the halogens in the same car did.

LED's can be good headlights just like the ones in the Prius V

The projector tube makes the world of difference in dispersing the light output and giving it the needed range.

A LED bulb can be just as good if not better than an HID bulb in the right housing.

I have standard HIDs that came with the RS package but they give off a yellowish look and ruin DRLs look. I wanted to switch the D3S stock bulbs that are 4300k to D3S 6000k instead. That should be a simple plug and play after I remove the stock bulb. I shouldn't have to do anything. It's just the temperature change of the bulbs that's all. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I wanna make the switch soon

You're right... Just swap out the bulb's and you're good to go.

So there's reason for me to get the 55w right since it won't put out that much brightness? And last question. Is it hard to remove the stock bulbs from the car? Do I have to remove the bumper?
