Over-the-road Hauling Company info

At some point, all Camaros will have to travel by truck.
The dealers that are within appox. 250 miles from the plant will have their cars shipped in by truck.
Those that are further than 250 miles will have to travel by rail first to a distribution center (railyard) and then on a truck to the dealer.
I've put together some info on the over-the-road haulers here:

Allied Automotive:
http://www.aag1.com/#
They have on-line tracking but you have to register.
They do have a phone number: 1-866-527-4285

Cassens:
http://www.cassens.com/transport/
They have on-line tracking. Need VIN & dealer number

Hansen & Adkins Auto Transport:
http://www.hansenadkins.com/terminal.html

Jack Key Auto Transport:
http://www.jkat.com/

Jack Cooper Transport:
http://www.jackcooper.com/

Centurion Auto Logistics:
http://www.atclogistics.com/

Translogic:
http://www.tlac.com/template.php?pid=15

Miller Transport:
1-530-223-0504

Leaseway:
1-216-765-5500

I could not find info for the following auto haulers:
Fleet Car, MPG Transport, PTS,
Diversified Automotive, Active, Hertz,
Transtech, ALZS, ATVI, USRI, ATC,
Swift

Some of these companies have on-line tracking, most don't. For on-line tracking, you may have to register. If you cannot register or they do not offer on-line tracking, you can call them direct. All you'll need is your VIN and maybe the dealer number.

You'll need to know your distribution center first, however. The Dealer Business Center can give that info to your dealer when they call them. Each distribution center has different haulers contracted to them.

Any idea what regions any of thes carriers service? Or they all nationwide carriers.

HuJass 04-15-2009 09:18 PM

What's weird is that they're scattered.
It looks like Allied & Cassens are the biggest.

Once you get the location of your final rail distribution center, you can call them to get the name of the hauler that will be carrying your car.

I know that Allied is the one that delivered the car to my dealership today in Indianapolis... and it was carried on a closed truck kind of like Rick Hendrick's car instead of an open car hauler.

SIK07GTSTANG 05-01-2009 09:55 PM

What am I looking for in terms of a dealer number? Can someone give me an example?

ZZcamaro 05-01-2009 09:56 PM

A dealer number is also the BAC number. I think. That is a very protected number, and is a no no for people to use unless you truly work there!!

And on a positive note, there should be more car haulers available to move Camaros out at a faster pace due to the unfortunate events at Chrysler. Those haulers were like ants on an ant hill around the Chrysler assembly plant in Sterling Heights. With the plant idled I'd guess the transport company will throw more of their trucks into service anywhere they can find work....and theres plenty of work coming out of the Oshawa plant.
