ENGINE PLAQUE ON SS 1LE
 

Hello everyone, I’m new to this forum but have been lurking in the shadows for the last several months lol. I came across an interesting thread topic in the ZL1 section in reference to certain ZL1 and ZL1 1LE Camaros having a plaque mounted on the super charger stating that the engine was assembled at the Performance Build Center in Bowling Green Ky.

I was working on my 2020 SS 1LE the other day and when I removed the driver side fuel rail cover I discovered that this plaque was mounted on the intake manifold cover? Have any of you found one on your SS 1LEs ?

What has been discovered so far is that this plaque is placed on engines that were hand assembled by one person at the Corvette plant in Bowling Green Ky. This action was reserved for the the LS7 used in the Z28 and the LT4 and LT5 used in the Corvettes. Now some are showing up in the 2020 and possibly 2019 ZL1 and ZL1 1LEs. A source at GM allegedly stated that future engines installed in the ZL1 will be hand built by the Performance Build Center at Bowling Green. To the best of my knowledge I’m the first one to find a LT1 engine with this plaque installed on it. Very curious indeed, and also kind of cool.

Hmmmm, now that makes want to go look, if it is only on the '20 then I may have one. Interesting......

Yeah, I read the OP and went out to the garage and popped off the drivers cover only to be disappointed.

Mine are laying on the garage floor as I decided to leave all that plastic cover BS there after replacing my plug wires. I will go look, but don't remember seeing that.

Just a suggestion, you May also want to check the passenger side.....

May depend on build dates for the car also? I will need to check when I get a chance to see if I have one or not.

Mine was built August 2019
