Novice Tire Question
I know there are tons of tire threads on the site but I find it to be a bit overwhelming not knowing anything and need things dumbed down a bit further.
I plan on buying 20 inch stock 2015 camaro rims locally if i end up buying this 2010 1LT (currently in price negotiations), I want to use these to put winter tires for easy swapping. What size tires do I need to search for? Do 20inch rims=20 inch tires? I know blizzaks(sp.?) and scorpions are the go to winter tires but i wanted to see if there are perhaps some (cheaper) alternatives. Thanks |
I would recommend going to NTB or Discount Tire or whatever national store is near you to see what your options are.

Front rims get 245 45 R20 and rear rims get 275 40 R20 tires . The way the size works Is first number is how wide the tread is (245 mm ) middle number is % of the first number in side wall height (45% of 245 mm ) third number is the rim size (20) .the R means it's radial (steel belted

For winter I actually suggest running the 245/45R20 on all 4 corners.

So when a tire says "19inch" that's referring to the rim?
If you have 20inch rims are you forced to buy 20inch tires? |
