Tempted. Carmax offered me more than I paid new.

Carmax did in person appraisal of my SS. Offered me $36k. I paid $33,090 before tax and tags 2yrs ago.

Like the SS a lot but most of my driving is around town. I can afford the $4 gas driving just 6-7k a year.

But if sold would probably downgrade to 4 cyl turbo like a Forte GT and pocket the difference of $12k. Just easier to park, runs on regular and better if I get another dog.

Tempted but will probably just keep the SS. I’d miss the V8 buzz.
But hard to resist selling at these prices.

yeah, no.

I was just thinking of this except with my Truck, bought the truck brand new 4 years ago for 31k out the door. Blue Book and NADA are at 34-37K right now. Times are crazy right now.

I think several of us are/were in this boat. I could easily sell the Camaro and make money. The issue is, I really have no want to sell it other than the check... so is that a good enough reason? It would be different if I needed the money. :bonk:

Carvana offered me +$750 than the dealer when I place my ZL1 order, I'll revisit that when the car comes and its time to deal.

I haven't looked but it is tempting.

My thing is what would I get instead? The Chevy SS is hard to find and high mileage ones are still above 30k.

The V3 CTSv is still expensive for me. Though the check would obviously cover some cost.

C7 Corvette GS would be nice but then there'd be the "Corvette Culture" to deal with.

Don't need a truck.

Ugh

Well I had to be there by 10am pst and takes 3hrs. Later and it’s several hours bc they get crazy busy.

I’m stuck working from home and go out of town tomorrow. Guess not meant to be. I can afford the car and gas so don’t need the money.

are you sure that correctly modeled your car? That's hard to believe more than you paid for it though I've heard crazy used pieces in the last week or two. I just ask because my trade wasn't correctly appraised based on the 1LE but a standard SS.

WhiteMale 04-16-2021 12:37 PM

ok so Carvana tells me $33.8K...lolol oh boy

They list it as an SS on their appraisal. But it was done last night and the offer is $36k. That’s all I know.

I would sell it if it is a automatic transmission.

foshjowler 04-16-2021 12:52 PM

Maybe look at the Veloster N, or one of the Ford ST cars, seems like it'd be more interesting than a Forte
