What do you guys think of this rear drag setup?

I already have MRR Z/28 replicas so these would kinda match the front for trips to the drag track. I'd have an hour and a half drive each way by the way.

I would do 17x10 and run a 305-45-17.

Same.

But for the same money quoted above, I went with Welds.

You'll have to do the 17x10.5, they don't make a 10" unless you go down to the 15" and then you have to do a brake conversion. I agree, do the 17x10.5 with the 305-45-17 and et street R

Is the ET Street in either the bias or the radial good to go for a 3 hour 70 MPH highway roundtrip to the track?

laynlo15 01-10-2019 12:02 PM

I wouldn't buy the bias then, I'd buy the radial

That's just one way? Long trip on any drag radial.

Yep...I meant the 10.5

I like it, but would second the notion to go with the R over the SS tires. I'm also looking at 18" wheels because it's so hard to find a 17 I like that will fit over the ZL1 brakes without spending a fortune and I don't want to replace the brakes. If I was replacing the brakes I'd go all out and run a 15" wheel.

Yes. My dad runs the Pros, which is even more aggressive than the R, and he drives his an hour and a half each way all the time and has even driven 4 hours one way a time or 2. Well he did. Lately he's been trailering back and forth because he has broken something and had to hitch a ride all the way back home to get his truck and trailer to go back after the car.

17's fit on rear, its the front that you would need 18's. These are racestars just like the ones you want, I believe even cheaper.

Carlyle has the 17x10s Welds with the ET Street Rs for like 1500 shipped and it's a perfect fit.

That being an almost 28 inch tire would he gain going to a 26 inch tire?

At the track on a prepped surface maybe, on the street no. That being said, The fastest cars in all categories are running a 28...not to mention it looks much better then a 26.
