Road coarse the A-8 ?

Has any one had the 16 SS camaro with a A-8 been on a road coarse yet ?
I had a 14 Z-51 C-7 with a A-6 at Willow Springs, Lasted five minutes, Trans over heated and went into limp mode. I now have a 16 SS with a A-8, This Trans seems much better than the A-6 and i want to take it to the track.
Will it over heat or be OK ? thanks for the input........

From what I understand, the Camaro has much better cooling than the early C7s did, so it should be fine for track use. Haven't been on a road course with mine, but if anyone here has maybe they can confirm.

You'll be fine, they tested the camaros to last in a track setting hence the track warranty.

I have. You won't have a problem with heat. I will stop there as I have commented in other threads on my opinion from a performance perspective but you don't have to worry about heat.

Good luck and have fun. Haven't been to Road America but I heard that track is fast with long straight. Good place to really open up LT1.

Wanna try that track someday. When I go there, I'll ask you for some tips. :happy0180:

Link to the issues you had, I didn't see the posts...

While I'm certainly still a novice there, I'm willing to fork over my personal experiences there.. =) This is now my 3rd car in 3 trips to this track.. New car every time, so it keeps it all new.

I thought this thread topic sounded familiar.

I'm shaking my head at your choice.

Even Tadge Juechter himself is on video recommending road course guys skip the autos for the manual.
You already know the answer to the question you posed in this thread.

Don't recall him asking about how a C7 with A8 would do and don't recall Tadge being chief engineer on the Camaro. And it seems like everyone has commented on how he won't have issues (still think it's too early to tell but that's me). So exactly how does he know the answer to his question?

Why don't we wait for some reviews to come in from our track rats with the A8? I read your posts on the other thread. I've have no love for GM's autos either but I still want to keep an open mind and read some first hand track reviews since the A8 is one I don't have any personal experience with.

Camaro will not have an automatic trans for the '17 1LE....Manual only....I'd tend to think that's for a good reason....

To keep the price down? To keep traditionalists from having a meltdown? To keep the A10 exclusive to the top tier Camaro? :iono:
