Found a Surprise In the Trunk of My 2010 Camaro!

I originally posted this in the General Discussion section of Camaro5, but thought I would post it here too for those of you that know me or my car.
I found a nice little surprise in the trunk of the Camaro while I was replacing my 11 year old OEM battery over the Easter week-end. I ended up going with a MotoMaster Eliminator AGM battery from Canadian Tire. Hopefully it lasts as long as the OEM did! Now on to the surprise. Tucked all the way at the back of the trunk, just behind the rear seat and under the trunk carpet was a long black canvas carry case, about 3 feet long by 4 inches square. Inside the case was what looked like a portable projection screen, but it was an original Callaway Camaro display from 2010 that Wilson Niblett Motors used to promote the Callawy Camaro. I can't believe that I never spotted this before, but in the 10+ years that I've owned this car, I've never completely removed the carpet from the trunk. I just rolled it back towards the seat when I put a charger on the battery. |
Wow that’s pretty cool. Nice find and a nice surprise.

Pretty cool !!

Agreed...That's a cool find. Wonder what story was behind that, especially if your original owner.

Somebody's getting fired! LOL

My guess is that Wilson Niblett Motors had this on display with the car at their dealership. Someone must have tucked it into the trunk for safe keeping, only for me to find 10 years later :) |
Heres a thought, maybe it was put in there intentionally.
I doubt they had many more callaways on the lot to promote, they may have printed it up just to sell your car? Once sold, they had no real need for it. |

That's a possibility. I'll have to ask my sales rep about it the next time I take the car in for service. Wilson Niblett is 1 of 2 authorized Callaway dealers in Canada and I believe my car was the first Callaway SC572 ordered/delivered in the country back in 2010/2011. It was actually used in the Wilson Niblett display area at the Camaro Home Coming event. I know they've sold a number of SC560's, SC572's, SC630's since I purchased my car and they had a 2021 Camaro SC750 in the showroom a few weeks ago. |
Can you post any pics of you car for us?

I don't usually end up taking many pics of my own car at events, but here are a few from over the years. It's a 2010 Callaway SC572, 2SS, 6 speed manual, with a 3D Carbon Body kit, Factory HID conversion, Hurst Stunner wheels (20x11 rear / 20x9 front) running 315 Nitto Invos out back and 275 Nitto Invos up front. |
That car is a beauty. Very nice.:w00t:
