This would be only accessible through hptuners? The last time I used tuning software was with my tactrix cable & ecuflash from the evo days...

Yes HPtuners and EFI live are the only 2 consumer tuning/scanning software platforms worth a shit for GM.

What in the hell is with all this fascination over popping it sounds like XXXX

I want to completely eliminate it, nothing sounds better than a clean snarl on decel.

So i decided to finally disable the dfco to see how it sounded. But my screen looka much different than the one shown, does anyone know why? Im a 17, and dont want to mess with the timing.

Looks like you’re in basic view. Go to edit select view and than select advanced.

Oh good call, that was it, I changed both rpms to 8k and writing the file now. Thankyou for your help, as always. Fingers crossed it works and i didnt mess anything up

Trochoidal 04-26-2020 02:04 PM

You’re welcome! I’d bet 99.9 to 1 that you’ll have no issues.:happy0180:

You are correct, it worked perfectly! Im gonna give it a week, but im not sure if i like it. I thought it would pop more, buts its more of a gurgle.

So, was it worth it? Any feedback?

I’m with you. If anything I want to get it tuned to remove it.

He can certainly help you if you get stuck or are afraid to mess with the tables displayed above.

So I am planning to modify the min spark tables by doing the following: Instead of copying-pasting the whole top 3 rows of the 2019 table, I will reduce the timing in the Minimum Spark Base and Long Term to 5 degrees in the .04, .08 and .12 rows, as this is where I want the pops on decel. If 5 degrees of timing makes the popping rather aggressive, I will increase the timing values from there to fine tune the amount of pops and crackles.

This is what I will do:

Engine>Spark>Minimum Spark> Base and Long Term (Both tables)

First I will change 0.04 to 0.12 airmass rows by 2000 to 3100 columns to 5.00. I will go higher or lower in the RPM to suit my needs and also go lower or higher with the number to make more or less aggressive pops respectively. I 've been told not to go over 0.12 airmass rows.

I will try with DFCO enabled and then disabled, to see how it sounds and if disabling it affects drivability, deceleration and fuel consumption (not that I care). I will disable as geaux_tigerss suggested in post #23.

By the way, does anyone have the file in the first post of this thread? The link is not functional anymore. Thanks!

What are you guys using to tune? I'm new to this and would love to get into it
Currently running straight through mufflers and a custom fabricated H-pipe and I'm getting wonderful gurgles on a stock tune, but I would love for them to be louder:smiling1:
