ZL1 and sound limit at AZ Motorsports Park

Anyone done the sound test at AMP with a '17-18 ZL1?

Curious if it passes sound in Tour/Sport/Track modes...??

Just going to bump this with some definitive info...

I had conversed a while back with a poster on Youtube who told me his ZL1 didn't pass sound at AMP. After an attempt at an exhaust mod to quiet it down failed, we decided not to take it to AMP for our track day yesterday.

Another ZL1 (2018, A10, all stock) showed up, and he did indeed fail sound.

So, I can definitively report that a stock ZL1 will fail sound at AMP.

What’s crazy is that this track is located right next to Luke AFB. F-35’s flying around all the time.

Yup.

I've been at the track when they had to shut down the sound checks because jets were taking off... LOL

Thanks for the heads up! Won't bother trailering mine up there. No wonder us Southern AZ folks want to split off from Maricopa county. Too much like CA.

It was really the fault of the big developers in the area, particularly SunCorp. I ran the track in 2003-4 when it first opened (I was racing bikes at the time). The developers were buying up property around Luke AFB, because they believed it was closing. The track was a thorn in their side for putting in subdivisions. They actually chartered buses to take people to the County meetings to protest the track, even though the closest house was ~3/4 mile away at that time. The County got pissed and shut the track down, and it took 5+ years of litigation to get it re-opened. Of course, Luke never closed down.

Unfortunately the deal to re-open the track came with a sound limit...
