Nice build! I was thinking of doing the Kooks with the speed eng x. Other than cutting the x for the offroad pipes did it pretty much bolt on. Any other recommendations before I tackle it?

You have to cut the back end of the kooks connection pipes, and cut the front of the x pipe kit. Then you have to figure out a way to join the two, by either swelling one, welding them, or if there is a clamp that does that or not?

Someone suggested these https://www.kooksheaders.com/exhaust-pipe-14190.html as they are 3in to 3in I have to order connection pipes any way so I may give them a try, may make things a little easier. Thanks again for the insight I will be following your build.

What track do you run at? If I end up keeping my car we can run together.

Those are meant for a 5th gen, so I don't know if the bend are the same?

Anywhere and everywhere. lol. I hit up Keystone a lot, but it's keystone.... horrible prep, slow track, and if you get more than 2 runs in on a test n tune night, you are lucky.

going to a track rental on aug 12 at quaker

hitting up MIR in November hopefully.

even if you don't, bring whatever your next toy is out. more diversity is fun. :)

I have had good luck at Keystone lately, but it's hit or miss how busy a T&T night will be.

Belated fathers day gift.

Adds an easy 20 rwhp across the whole curve, best bang for your buck mod for an auto

small update

my wheels should be finished in the next few weeks, after that, lots of track times will be to follow

I got a sweet deal on a 3.73 rear differential, and waiting for it in the mail.

I had originally ordered a GForce aluminum driveshaft last week.... but after seeing what happened to Pray's gforce aluminum driveshaft, I have cancelled my order and ordered a QA1 one instead. It's more money, but you can't put a price on safety imo.

Also picked up a set of the poly BMR differential bushings to throw into the new differential, while it's out.

3.73s, differential bushings, driveshaft, and converter are in. Tuner has the car and is trying to dial it all in.

I drove my car, untuned, and without any exhaust (open z pipe) to my friends shop, that's 45 minutes away, with the gears..... at 12 am. Therr are a lot of neighborhoods in the greater Pittsburgh area that aren't fond of me right now. Lol

Getting close to having some fun with this thing....

I have to admit, I really think I would like that!

I've always been an advocate of "Dont fear the gear". In my 5th gen, I had 4.10s and I didnt feel like those were enough. In my 4th gen, I had 4.30s. But I can honestly say that if they made 3.90s for this diff, I wouldn't buy them. It's on the border of too much for me, which is exactly where I like it. Lol.

Hitting 8th gear and having the converter already locked before 40 mph is funny.... the car basically lives in 8th gear.

Mpg has suffered... running on e85 and with 3.73s, I'm averaging 16 mpg now.
